well i have made a cable - god does my soldering suck - and its now outputting to the composite on my TV.
the picture is better-ish i would say. i guess its less likely to drift over time tho- so a bonus.
anyway-
the monitor port has three live pins, judging from the outside looking in anyway. pins 1-3-5.
i have what i would say are pins 5 (taking the central wire) and pin 3(taking the outer wire) connected. leaving pin 1.
grounding perhaps. the composite cable i hacked up only had to wires, the inner core to pi 5 and the outer to pin 3. nowt available to pin 1.
??
related - does anyone have any pin outs for all the ports? next on the list is making an audio cable to go straight to the tv, rather than through y laptop as just now.
i guess three pins will again be live for this. knowing the pinout would save time.
??
lots of new guy questions huh?

Re: monitor port
Hello there,
take a look at this page
http://www.grempc.demon.co.uk/dragon/info/pinouts.html
it seems to have everything you need ('U' marks the plug/socket indent by the way).

Re: monitor port
Hmmm!
sound from the composite port!
i think i can work with that, it will stop cable swapping.
thanks a lot.
