Hi all,
I'm about to replace the caps on my D32 motherboard (two of the tants near the power connector are dead/dying so I thought I'd be as well just replace them all.) Since it's hard to find the 4.7uf 50v tants without getting a mortgage - what do you all think about replacing them with 4.7uF electrolytics? I was thinking about replacing them with low ESR Panasonic types that I have here.
Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Cheers!

I think those tantalums were just the best choice at the time, and those panasonics you mention (aluminium polymer?) should be fine. But you might want to concentrate really hard and see if you can get an actual EE to wake up

Thanks for the reply - I think I'll go with the low ESR electrolytic caps - unless anyone else here thinks that it wouldn't be a good idea!
I think the same as you do sixxie - electrolytic caps should be fine in this instance.
Cheers!
