Re: Dragon 64 with a couple of issues

Would that be REG3 (the top one) on my blue Iss3 board?

Re: Dragon 64 with a couple of issues

Another update: All components on the faulty PSU board (ISS4) looked okay to me, but there were no voltages on the connector to the main board and not even on the voltage regulators. I inspected the rear of the PSU board and found that (due to jiggling?) some solder joints of the power connector wer...

Has someone ever tried a D32 to D64 PSU board upgrade? What exactly needs to be done?

Re: Dragon 64 with a couple of issues

Will do. Thanks to you both. Any advice on the video? Beside from VR2, is there any other place to tweak the signal? The problem with missing colors resp. characters being partially green, blue etc. is present on the monitor and the TV signal. Update: Solder joints looked normal. Nothing found with ...

Dragon 64 with a couple of issues

I got hold of a Dragon 64, which optically appeared to be in good condition. However, I found a couple of issues: - First there was no reaction at all when the power button was pressed. The PSU was known to be good. I suspected the brown PSU board (with UM 1287) and luckily I had a blue issue 3 with...

Re: Video flickers

You´re stars! The Dragon is fixed. Removing the powder/crystals, especially from RV1 and turning it back and forth cured the flickering signal. Thanks a lot! After working on many other vintage computers, I have to say the Dragon is one of the easiest ones to get access to and it´s very service-frie...

Re: Video flickers

Thanks for the welcome and your advice. I will give the two components a clean. Forgot to mention that I used the same PSU for both Dragons and the other one showed a stable signal. However, the voltages get modified on the RF board, so this could also be the bad boy? p.s. Yes, I do seem to have som...

Video flickers

Hello! I´m new to the Dragon community. I recently got hold of two Dragon 32. One works perfectly, but optically it isn´t in good shape. The other one looks much nicer, but its video signal (I use a DIN-Cinch cable to get the Composite signal) flickers about every two seconds, resp. the colours disa...
