auctioned a Dragon 64...

Post by jedie »

I must be crazy. Auctioned a Dragon 64 on ebay for £83 (~98€)...

It's this:

de: http://www.ebay.de/itm/DRAGON-32-64-COM ... 1144398483
... too many ideas and too little time ... Related stuff written in Python:

That doesn't seem too bad a price for a 64 - certainly seems to be about what I was willing to pay 10+ years ago if you account for inflation (though obviously doesn't quite compare if you see it in terms of wages!).

And 64K is worth having, of course :)

Looks like you got one with the improved keyboard, too.

And I bought the pair of Voltmace joysticks from this seller (halfton88). These have been difficult for me to source in Australia. Most UK ebay sellers seem reluctant to offer post to here and no sign of local Tandy Coco joystick availability despite the Coco legacy here.

Didn't all 64s have the metal plated keyboard with the clipped in keys ?
Actually my original 32 did as well, which is why I never understood people's gripes about the 32 keyboard until I got another 32.

Cheers.

Phill.

How do you see the difference in keyboards? Where is this metal plating? If anyone could add to http://archive.worldofdragon.org/index. ... =Keyboards it would be great :)

Heh, well. I received a couple from ebay with the old style keyboard, but that doesn't necessarily mean they originally came with those...

Tormod: you can tell the difference by looking - the old style has larger key legends - e.g., there's a Dragon 64 on ebay at the moment that looks like it has the old style keyboard.

The old style is clamped into the base with two plastic widgets, the new style is metal backed and mounts onto pillars.

The key action of the older style isn't as nice, IMHO - "squidgy" to type on.
