Hi !

I´m really new to the Dragon 32 i got yesterday, but i´m not new to retro homecomputers... I have many of them here, Commodore, Atari, Amstrad, Sinclair, and so on...

But back to my new Dragon32...

Is there a DIY-Project (maybe on Github...?) for a Device to load programs/games from USB, SD or a Gotek Drive ? Yes, I´ve seen that there are several Devices like CoCoSDC or DragonMMC, but they seem to be closed source and I could buy them here or there, but I would like to build something on my own.

Actually DragonMMC is mostly open source, the only bit that is not available is the PCB files (at the insistance of Bas who produces them).
See here : https://github.com/prime6809/DragonMMC

You can use Gotek drives if you have a DragonDOS (or reproduction) controller. There are also things like CasDuino that allow you to load from
virtual tape files on an SD card....not sure if it allows you to save as well.

Cheers.

Phill.

Hi Snocksman.

There are a few options.

This is a nice one for self build...

@prime DragonMMC ist a really nice looking project, but as you allready mentioned, there are no CAD, or Gerber-Files...

DragonDOS or any other Floppy Controller for a gotek-drive sounds nice, too. Do you know a OpenSource project for that ?

Edit: OK, I found this Website which seems to contain all that I need to build a Floppy Controller. So I can use a Gotek Drive with my Dragon. :D https://hardware.speccy.org/temp/Dragon-1.html

@bluearcus I found the Project from Kernelcrash allready, but again, no CAD or Gerber-Files... But this one has so simple wiring that i think i could create a PCB with KiCAD in my own.

Edit: OK, I had to convert the Eagle files to the new Format, but this looks good. :D I think i'll make one of these...

And it runs very well with my Gotek Drive !

Nice! If you have done a kicad convert it would be brilliant to upload the zipped project here for reference.

Next of course, 64k mod!
