What's the problem?

I use it on my Mac without a hitch.

You can use MAME too (specially for the nice debugger), but for everyday use XRoar is much more comfortable to use.

I just doesn't seem to work.

I thought I could just download Xroar, load the game and then load games. I get stuck with this screen.

Fundin, you also need the Dragon ROMs (IC17 for a Dragon 32, IC17 and IC18 for a Dragon 64 - incidentally, if you were to remove these chips from a real Dragon you would see the screen you posted). These ROMs are available from the download archive. The manual tells you where to place the unzipped ROMs.

I feel like I'm being an idiot!
Got Eurohard S.A. - Dragon 200 IC17.ROM and Xroar but looking in manual for next steps, any clue?
Thanks

Fundin, I don't have a Mac and it would probably be best if a Mac user helps you, but I can tell you that the manual states:
ROM images should be placed either in your home directory as ~/.xroar/roms/, or under the installation prefix as prefix/share/xroar/roms/. Any configuration file should be created as ~/.xroar/xroar.conf.
I hope this makes sense to you .

I put it here
/Users/simonjohnson/Library/XRoar/roms
No joy though, I think that's the same as ~/.xroar/roms/ ?

Hi,

The right path would be /Users/simonjohnson/.xroar/roms

Also, what are the rom names once uncompressed?

I think on MacOSX, the directory under ~/Library/ is indeed equivalent.

But it's worth nothing that the Dragon 200 IC17 is the 64K BASIC ROM - you'd also need IC18. I don't know if that's true on the board, but the downloads I checked a while ago seemed to be that way around. On the original Dragon 64, IC17 is indeed the 32K BASIC ROM (the one you'd need to get going at all).
