New screens for old games

Post by robcfg »

Hello everyone!

Inspired by a thread on the CPCWiki, where people made new load screens for games that could have a better one, I've decided to the the same here, as I think it can be quite funny.

So I'll start with Buzzard Bait. The Tom Mix loading screen is very nicely done, but has nothing to do with the game.

Here you have the new screen I created for it. I hope you like it!

You'll find attached the cracked version of the game with the new screen.

Cheers!

Congratulations! This is definitely a great piece of artwork for one of my favourite Dragon games.
Yet I will be so nasty as to say there is no sign of riders, nor any clue about the pterodactyl, which is a pity since those were so important to the game...

Agreed! Buzzard Bait is one of my all time favorite Dragon games. Both the single-player and multi-player modes work really well. Great artwork reflecting the original box design.

I hope to see more new screens, awake the artists in you! :mrgreen:

@robcfg

just to begin ... what program do you use to edit/create these images?
Do you work in the Dragon world or in the PC?

Once this is clear to me, any advice you could give to get some painting skills will be really very much appreciated.

cheers

This is lovely! Well done.
There are a fair few games that have poor loading screens (many of the the Microdeal ones spring to mind). Mind you there are a few games (not written by anyone here I hasten to add) where the loading screen was the best thing about them. :D
