Cartridge Disable v1.0

Temporarily disables any connected DOS or FIRQ auto-starting type cartridges on a 64K Dragon or CoCo. Two different versions are supplied. One for 64K Dragon computers (DCARD) and one for 64K CoCo computers (CCARD).

This program can also be used in combination with my ROM (in RAM) Reset Patch so that you don't need to remove your favourite DOS (or other) cartridge before applying the reset patch.

A copy of the cartridge software remains in 64K mode RAM after it has been disabled. If its a DOS type cartridge, it can be re-enabled in 64K mode by entering EXEC&HC002 at the command prompt. And, if you have patched the BASIC System ROM with my ROM (in RAM) Reset Patch, the DOS can easily be disabled again at any time by entering POKE&H71,0:EXEC&HB3B4 (POKE&H71,0:EXEC&HA027 for a CoCo) to cold start the computer. You can switch between the DOS being enabled or disabled at any time.

To use Cartridge Disable in combination with my ROM (in RAM) Reset Patch, Load the ROM (in RAM) Reset Patch program from disk first, then load the Cartridge Disable program, enter EXEC, then enter EXEC&HC02. This will give you the option to load any other compatible DOS versions from cassette to use with your DOS cartridge. Enter EXEC&HC002 after loading from cassette to enable the new DOS version.
