Welcome Vato!

Post by zephyr »

Hi Vato,

Welcome to the forum! :)

I hope you don't mind me asking a few questions...

(1) How many Dragon's do you own

(2) Do they all run OK at double speed

(3) How many years have you been a Dragon owner

Regards,
Steve

zephyr,
thanks, no problem!

(1) Just one old, but fully working, Dragon 32 (sn. 94220).

(2) Yes it does.

(3) Got it in May 1983, so that will be 26 years, I guess.

Thanks for the feedback! :)

(1) Were Dragon 32's sold in Sweden, or did you buy from the UK?

(2) Do you use a TV or a monitor?

no problem!

(1) I actually think it was bought in Norway. I got it from my uncle that lived in Norway at the time.

(2) I use a TV, connected from the monitor socket to the TV's Scart.

Were Dragon 32's available from high street stores in Sweden/Norway at the time?

I don't think they were available in Sweden before late that year (83) or early the next, at least I never saw them in any stores around where I lived. I bought all my software by mail-order from the UK.

I just spoke to my uncle on the phone, and he said he bought mine at a bookshop in central Oslo. In fact he bought three, one for me, one for my cousin and one for him self.

Interesting; I had no idea that Dragons had been on sale in Norway and Sweden. :)

The Dragon was one of many computers on sale in Norway in the mid-eighties. Where I grew up, they were for sale in the book store. The Dragon could not compete with Commodore 64 in popularity, but had a loyal user base. A couple of games by Norwegian authors were released in the UK, namely Stone Raider II by Rolf Michelsen, North Sea Action by Geir Hovland, and Tetris by myself. Did I leave out anyone?

Now I wonder, were there any titles made by Danes or Swedes?

I guess this means you had PAL out there - for some reason I would have guessed at SECAM!
