Detecting CPU type?

Its very easy to detect a 6309 processor from machine code, but does anyone know of a way to detect which of the 09, A09, or B09 type CPU's is installed?

The 6309 has functional differences so it's easy to detect. The A09 and B09 are the same functionally so I don't think there is any way to detect them in software.
