Wifi options fo the Dragon

Hi all,

I've seen various videos and posts where people have hardware solutions allowing them to access wifi on their Dragons. I'd like to get my own Dragon online if possible and I was wondering what options are open to me. Are there any off the shelf solutions I can buy or any designs I can use to build something myself?

Thanks

Rick Uland's been working on "CoCoIO". I don't know much more about it than that - in particular, I'm not even sure if this is CoCo 3 specific. If it's supposed to work on the CoCo 1/2 as well, then hardware-wise it'll doubtless be fine on the Dragon too. Definitely ask first!

And you'll have to be willing to wait on useful software, or more usefully help write it! In particular their focus will be on the CoCo, though level 1 OS-9 drivers shouldn't be an issue for the Dragon (again, assuming they support level 1). Anything they write for DECB would be a complete rewrite for DragonDOS.

If all that doesn't put you off:

Thanks for the info. Looks like I need to see where this Coco project goes first!

If you have a Dragon 64, you could simply attach a Wifi Modem to the serial port, which is what I did for quite a while. Things got a little more interesting when I added serial to a Dragon 32 with the board built by Phil Harvey-Smith ('Prime' on this forum). This board had a socket for an ESP-32, so I got Wifi integrated into my Dragon. I've rambled on about this on Twitter - two good posts are:
