Any way to convert a Midi file to play on my Tano?
Any way to convert a Midi file to play on my Tano?
It would be awesome if I could play Midi files on my Tano, and if I can, I will post a video of it.
Re: Any way to convert a Midi file to play on my Tano?
Hi, welcome to the Archive!
It should be possible, yes, but the midi file itself is the smaller of the problems.
I don't know if a program to use the Dragon as a synthesizer already exists, maybe with a hardware expansion. Otherwise, a program to read the midi file and simulate the instruments table would be needed, and it's no trivial task imho.
Interesting topic anyway.
Regards,
Rob

Check out Bill Pierce's website for a nice review and downloads of many midi players for the CoCo.
Lyra2 looks like the best option for the Dragon with Drivewire support. Haven't tried it yet, but I will
