Looking for a Dragon or CoCo game not already in the archive - Then request it here and hopefully it will either be uploaded to the archive or another member can upload it to this forum.

Music software for the dragon?

Post by lukeoftheaura »

Does any music software (sequencers etc) exist for the dragon? I know of one program called "music maker" but I can't figure out how it works - and documentation seems nonexistant. I also know synther7 which is a cool synth, but doesn't have any kind of sequencing.

Hello,

I'm not sure Microdeal's "The Dragon Composer" could be what you're looking for, but I would still suggest checking that one first. I believe the original documentation will be available.

Hi, I am attaching here the manual I found about this program

There are other options ... for instance Orchestra90 that allows entering scores for up to 5 voices
The manual exists for the CoCo, but you could use the Dragon version from these two threads:
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5515 --- main thread about this port
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5622 --- latest version to work on a Tandy MPI

And a last chance, I think that there were some music apps running under OS-9 despite they could be CoCo oriented too ...
cheers

a lot of this software seems to be disk-based, and I have no access to a disk drive.

Hi,
yes, composer X is disk based. Synther 7 seems to be a kind of soft that doesn't fit your needs.
Orchestra is a ROM based program that works both with tapes and disks
Music Maker exist in cas version, I am attaching it here
cheers

I have music maker, but I have no idea how to use it - I can't find any documentation.

Is the manual for a different version? It talks about menu options that don't seem to exist... And trying to adjust the "play shift" after loading one of the examples, it's not clear how you select specific channels to apply it to.
