Hello to you all!
Some of you I've met at the 6809 event in Cambridge. Some might know me through other channels. This is by way of a introduction to the rest of you.
I had a Dragon back in 1984/5 after graduating from a ZX81. I did basic programming (pun intended) and assembler for fun, but nothing commercial. However, if did ensure that I would be employed as a programmer/CTO in later life. I've written (professional) games on PC, mobile, and console, designed database systems for Unilever, munged huge scale backend systems, founded and built 3 edtech companies, and written firmware for embedded Linux systems.
My interest, these days, is in emulation and digital preservation. FWIW, I have pages at http://em.ulat.es/eaas/ and http://marquisdegeek.com/digital_heritage that (badly) describe my work in this area. I also wrote a D32 emulator on the Amiga 20 years ago. It's still floating around in the web. At the event I ran my emulator on an Amiga emulator, on a Windows virtual machine, running on my Mac...
Current Dragon-related projects:
* ASCII Bird : a flappy bird clone, using only block graphics
* Stone Raider 2 : A retro remake in Javascript (current version : http://marquisdegeek.com/stoneraider2/ )
* ZX81 => Dragon transpiler
* Another emulator : using only a meta-description in XML, I want to create a full emulator/assembler/disassembler like I did for the ZX81 and Spectrum a few years ago
* Something in mode 1
I mostly lurk since I know less than everyone I met at the 6809 event, but will add whatever I can...

Introducing myself
Re: Introducing myself
Hey Steve, welcome to the forum!
It was nice to meet you in person at the Dragon event in Cambridge.
It tends not to be so busy over here compared to FaceBook but it's still a great place to hang out and share projects or ask questions.

Re: Introducing myself
Hi Steve, likewise, it was good talking with you in Cambridge recently.
I had to look up your pint timer as soon as I got home, and was then immediately impressed at the variety of content on your site

Re: Introducing myself
Your ASCII rendition of Pac-Man reminded me of an ASCII side-scrolling shooter written by a work colleague in his spare time.

Hi, your data schemas for your emulation framework sound interesting, and would like to know more.

There's not much I can share ATM, other than what's on the em.ulat.es site. When I have more to post, I shall do so here.Pernod70 wrote:Hi, your data schemas for your emulation framework sound interesting, and would like to know more.
