Making the games 'friendly' to download
Hi all, As fun as the emulator is, there's something just wonderful about playing the games as nature intended on a real machine. Currently, I've starting keeping the sound files on my phone - so I plug the audio cable into the headphone, play the file and off I go (although the day these files leak...

Re: Tempted by the HxC Floppy Emulator - quick advice?
Just to keep you all posted - with the addition of a power supply and floppy cable from Maplins, my HxC is up and running. I'm amazed what a simple procedure that was - my only mistake was putting one of the ribbon cables on upside down. Now I'm off to download all the interesting looking disk image...

Re: Tempted by the HxC Floppy Emulator - quick advice?
Thanks for your help eveyone!
Well, my HxC arrived today - I got the cased version from Lotharek, and it arrived just days after order (I had been warned it could take up to 8 weeks). I'll probably get a chance to mess with it over the weekend and I'll keep you all posted.
Tony.

Re: Tempted by the HxC Floppy Emulator - quick advice?
Hi Zephyr, I was a good forum user and read that post before I posted, but it didn't actually answer my questions! It did mention the calibration issue, but I would love some more info on it (because I didn't really understand) - and there was a discussion on how to get power, in theory, but I was w...

Tempted by the HxC Floppy Emulator - quick advice?
Hi all, Well, I've got my Dragon 64 and a DOS cart, and am very tempted by this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SD-Floppy-Emulator-Blue-Rev-C-CASED-/180813666388?pt=UK_VintageComputing_RL&hash=item2a19559854#ht_6309wt_1396 However, a few questions before I part with my £100 ... 1. I've never had a real d...

Re: It still works! But can I improve video quality?
Hi all - I know this is a seriously old thread of mine, but I'd like to give it a happy ending. I just took delivery of my first Dragon 64 - and the video quality is markedly better than my original issue 1 Dragon 32. So yes, there is definitely an improvement in the video quality of the later machi...

Re: WIMP on the Dragon
Ooh, I'm intrigued - but sorry, yet again, I don't know how to run this. Thanks in advance for your patience.
Oh, and a complete newbie question - if I do a 'DIR' how do I stop the listing scrolling off the top?
Thanks all.

Re: WIMP on the Dragon
So does anyone know anything about the WIMP software itself? Who wrote it? Was anything developed to run under it?

Re: WIMP on the Dragon
Worked like a dream! Thanks Rob. Does anyone know anything of the history of this application? Now, maybe I should go off and buy this mouse on ebay ... Oh, and a Dragon 64. And some disk drives ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130527183370&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_1197wt_...
