Finally tested 256K

Looks like a) the 256K DRAMs I ordered off ebay last year are good, and b) SAMx4 256K banker support really does work. Yay!

Re: XRoar 1.5 released

As promised, there's 1.5.1 - crash bug fixed, and there's a little built-in list of "special" cartridges to smooth things over for CoCo 3 users.

Re: XRoar 1.5 released

Glad it's working for you :)

There'll be a 1.5.1 soon, as there's a crash bug if there turns out to be a problem loading cartridges...

Re: XRoar 1.5 released

I have tried v1.5 on Windows 10 64 bits and I get this error The inflateReset2 procedure entry point cannot be found in the dynamic link library d:\XRoar-v15\xroar.exe See attached image (text in spanish ...) What am I doing wrong? Oh! Nothing :) I think I know what's happened there: libpng depend...

XRoar 1.5 released

https://www.6809.org.uk/xroar/ Another arbitrary stopping point collecting together a bunch of developments. Yay! No clear focus! Includes the picture area/60Hz scaling stuff already mentioned, but also: Faster ROM intercept based printing on CoCo and MC-10 MPI slot config moved from global to per-c...

Re: Would a PicoDragon be a good idea?

Maybe if you didn't use any of the fanciness... XRoar's become a lot more resource-hungry over the years, as reasonable assumptions of available desktop power climb. It might mean reverting some of the stuff that happens cycle-by-cycle now but used to be bunched up inaccurately for speed. And the vi...

Re: SAMx4 1.0

And now 1.2 - lots of work on the build system means you now don't have to touch the ISE GUI. You still need it installed of course, but if you set up your environment as usual, you can just type 'make' in the cpld/ directory and out pops a set of JED (and SVF) variants. BIG ASTERISK: only tested un...

SAMx4 1.0

So thanks to lots of testing by Pedro Peña across his CoCo collection, SAMx4 now supports 4K and 16K ram sizes (and the extra 16K ram size in the '785). https://www.6809.org.uk/dragon/samx4/ Pedro's also designed a smaller version of the board, which is in the "rockyhill" branch in the gitlab reposi...

Re: Getting XRoar (or anything else) to save as ASCII

I've got a .CAS file with a big BASIC program in. I'd love to edit it on my computer. So I thought, simple, I'll save as ASCII from within XRoar - but, actually, can I do that? I can do a CSAVEM"STUFF",A - but it's still padded with a bunch of CAS stuff. So what's a nice simple way to get a BASIC f...

Re: SAM replacement - nearly there

Right. This works for everything odd I can find to throw at it. So at the risk of triggering a really obvious realisation, here's the current state of play, with downloads and what-not:
