Re: File2VDK anyone?

Hi Pere! The binary files I'm pulling off disks don't seem to have that header structure - but then again, neither do any of the other BIN files I have on my system. I found this conversation from, gosh, nearly 10 years ago with Sixxie - http://archive.worldofdragon.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=27...

Re: File2VDK anyone?

Nearly two years on, and I'm eventually getting round to playing with this! But I'm getting stuck too. I can pull basic files off a disk no problem (and the -ascii option is super handy!), but the binary files aren't recognised by Xroar - it just says "Unknown binary file type". I'm sure I'm missing...

Re: Peaksoft Prestel Cart (probably) ROM dump

Hi Rob,

Well, I got the case apart, and this is what I found inside. Is this picture good enough? All I see is thousands of little green wires and it's making my head hurt! :)

Cheers, Tony

Re: Looking for a terminal program

I know this is an old thread - is it really 4 years since we had this conversation? - but I've actually made some progress! Since we first talked about this, I've got a CocoSDC - I put Flex v1.3.2 in the first drive, ChatPlus in the second, booted, did a "1.CHATPLUS.CMD" at the Flex prompt - and bob...

Premier's Sprite Graphics Board

Hi all! Reading through November 1984's Dragon User, I stumbled across a review of Premier's Sprite Graphics Board - and that was a new one on me! It's basically a TMS9929A in a cartridge. Has anyone got, or even seen one of these? I've found one chap in the US on Facebook who has one, and that's it...

Re: Peaksoft Prestel Cart (probably) ROM dump

Actually, relatively speaking, it shouldn't be too hard. Once I can figure out what baud rate it's talking at, I'll get it to connect to a Pi or some sort of wifi232 box, then I can use a service like this - https://glasstty.com/wiki/index.php/The_TELSTAR_Videotex_System I'm happy to get photos of t...

Peaksoft Prestel Cart (probably) ROM dump

I'm pretty sure I've found one of these Peaksoft Prestel Cart mentioned here: http://peaksoft.co.uk/peaksoftstory/, or a homemade version of one. Certainly, there's a copyright message "PRESTEL SOFTWARE MARTIN CLEGHORN MULTITERM1987 1.1" in the ROM, and that ties up with the story on the Peaksoft si...

Re: Dragon Meetup 2018 - 16th June

I think that was a success! :) I'm always very happy to organise these events, they're such fun. As ever, my only regret is not getting round to see everyone's demos and have a chat - the time just goes so ridiculously quickly. I'm so glad Duncan turned up this year - let's see if we can get more Dr...

Re: Can anyone blow me an EPROM?

I do it using a command line under MacOS (using Linux software), on a Minipro tl866 - and I've got a spare W27C512 that I bought for the MOOH. Happy to talk you through what I do, or blow the eprom for you, or both!

Cheers, Tony

Re: Dragon Meetup 2018 - 16th June

For those of you that don't Facebook, here's the current plans: So, time for a little logistics. The Centre for Computing History, for those that haven't been before, is tucked behind an industrial estate at the wrong end of Cambridge. Don't worry, you're not lost, believe your GPS and you will find...
