Re: Return of the Ring

I've just tried the "rewritten" version posted above, and it crashed on the screen where one is asked either to create or load a new character... Then the emulation performed a reset, so I didn't bother to try once more. Is this the first or the fixed second version of the rewrite? I've had no prob...

Re: Return of the Ring

No problems loading the planet moon, though F12 seems to hang the initial loading of the planet part of the game so I have to do it the slow way. Erk, that shouldn't happen. F12 is supposed to simply add frameskip and bypass waiting on the sound device (which is what's used to time the whole system...

Anyway, in answer to your question RETURN2.CAS contains both the planet and forest moon part of the game - just press a key when going to the moon, "reloa...

Re: Video problem

Now I should build a cassette lead and try loading a program. I accept recommendations ;) That's a tricky one to answer, do you have any joysticks? For a Gauntlet style game you may want to try "Glove" ( http://archive.worldofdragon.org/index.php?title=GLOVE ). If you have a working joystick and wi...

Re: Video problem

Now I can see the picture on the TV: green paper, black ink, and black border. Is this correct? That's correct. Now try typing in EXEC [return] to change into Dragon 64 mode, the cursor should turn flashing blue. Next try the following program 10 SCREEN 0,1 20 GOTO 20 and RUN it, the screen should ...

Re: Video problem

Have you tried using composite video connector round the back? This should tell you whether the fault is in the TV modulator or in the video circuitry. Yes I am using both of them and I get the same result. I built a SCART lead connecting the video signal from the DIN connector (pin 3) to pin 20 (c...

I wish I could remember, could you give descriptions of the locations where these items lie? Perhaps that may jog my memory. Edit. A complete walkthrough can be found on page 29 of the October 1986 edition of Dragon User. If you do not have the magazine handy you can download a PDF (size 12 MB) of i...

Have you tried hooking the audio output (either speaker or headphone socket) of your Mac to your Dragon and using the Mac as the 'tape' player?
