Couple of cas files.

OK, here's the deal, attached are a couple of files that have been captured directly from my Dragon 64 as it loaded them :) So they should be complete copies of what is on the tape. When I say captured, what I did was patched the dragon cassette firmware to echo each byte read from tape up to my PC ...

Re: Flex disks

You need to add the VDK header to the file and rename to .VDK. There should be the tools to do this in the downloads area - if not give me a shout as I have compiled them for Win32. Indeed, though oddly, the Flex-OS disk boots fine in MESS, and I was able to access the Cobol and Basic disks mounted...

Re: Broken Dragon

Well I have replaced the burnt out capacitor on the board, but unfortunately don't get any TV output still. Depending on what you mean by "no TV output" there is a pot RV2 that controls the DC level of the video signal if this is wrongly set it can cause the screen output to be blank, though your m...

Re: Broken Dragon

There are 3 different types of Mark I Dragon 32 boards (All the MK 1 boards have the same layout with the exception of the RAM area: The original 16K board with 16K Piggy Back, labelled as (c) Dragon Data Services Ltd - Issue 2. Humm that's odd you seem to have mask programmed roms on your 64 board, or at least OTP eproms, all the 64 boards I have seen up until now have had EPROMS in them.

Cheers.

Re: Broken Dragon

Nice pictures, Phill! As soon as I get back home from holidays I'll try to do a 300dpi scan of my Dragon64 motherboard and upload it to the Motherboard Pictures page. I was going to do the 64's board tonight, I'll also do the Tano 64 and the Issue 1 Alpha at the same time. By the way, maybe we shou...

Re: Broken Dragon

Many thanks Phill - there is a row of jumpers - they are all in the same position (closed from memory as the Dragon is not in front of me at the moment) - I really think it may just be the one capacitor on the main board which has failed (C11), as there must be power, to make it smoke! I just need ...

Re: Broken Dragon

You will all be pleased to know that I have managed to obtain some 1st generation copies of the Dragon 32 schematics (for all types) and will be doing some hi-res scans of these shortly. Ohhh Excelent, those wouldn't be the A1/A0 size ones would they ? If so how are you going to go about scanning t...
