Yes, it should work fine, but note that you still need the inverting circuitry on the output from the Dragon. <shameless>I use similar UARTs in my adapters.</plug>

Re: HDB-DOS for Dragon 32 and 64/Tano

Coming up next Dragon Drivewire-USB adapter kits: Integrating USB-serial, an inverting gate, and a proper printer connector. For those without real RS232 ports on their external computer and not wanting to solder together their own solution. As promised, here they are: http://archive.worldofdragon....

Dragon DriveWire adapters

dw-MkIIe.jpg I am offering DriveWire adapter kits for the Dragon. They have a male USB connector that fits into your computer (optionally via a USB extension cable) and a 20-pin IDC connector like the Dragon printer port. A 20 cm IDC cable (like on the below photos) is included. dragondw-cables.jpg...

Re: Emulate Floppy with a Raspberry Pi ?

Although the RPi has a lot of power, I am not sure it is fast enough (latency) to deal with the Dragon bus on its GPIO pins. Maybe if you run it "bare metal" without any OS.

But with its serial UART it makes for a great DriveWire server!

Re: Last batch of SuperIDEs. Who would buy one ?

Mark also promised the new SuperSD by December 13. Summary of his posts in the CoCo list thread : > What is this next-gen device? The FlashPAK on the Cloud-9 web site? Is there any reason it won't be Dragon compatible from day one? When is day one by the way? :) Any ETA? SuperSD which will have Flas...

Re: HDB-DOS for Dragon 32 and 64/Tano

The Tano ROMs are here: Thanks. I did not see them in the archive at first because their filenames was different than for the other ROMs, so they end up far down the page. Note that 17 and 18 are swapped as compared to the D64. If this is an error maybe someone can fix up the filenames too? Consist...

Re: HDB-DOS for Dragon 32 and 64/Tano

It appears that there is some conflict with Dragon HDB_DOS running with a HD6309 CPU. I've installed back a 6809 on my Tano and now I don't get the garbled screen anymore! Interesting. It seems to work with 6309 on Tano in xroar (no garbled screen, just hanging at the prompt since no adapter is the...

Re: dragon 32 cassette format ?

Great project! I use xroar for converting WAV to CAS for single files, but it is not easily scriptable for more automated tasks. For instance I have some WAV's of whole cassettes that I want to extract all the files from (CAS would do). I tried DC.EXE for this (running in DOSEMU) with variable luck,...

Re: HDB-DOS for Dragon 32 and 64/Tano

Yeah, I would suspect that the adapter address is the problem. KenH's ROM is from a clean build of latest revision 552, without any parameter changes. I believe Luis' ROM is from revision 551 which explains most of the differences in the binary (both should work equivally well), additionally he has ...

Re: HDB-DOS for Dragon 32 and 64/Tano

Here is the promised DWDOS-like "quick loader" for bootstrapping from tape. The WAV tape file loads in just a couple of seconds. On EXEC it loads and boots the 8K long HDBDOS via DriveWire in ca 4 seconds. Please read the included README file, especially note the CLEAR address of 5DFF. For compariso...
