Re: DRAM data retention time

A Z7 invert option is a great idea. I wish it would fit but unfortunately the GAL only has one spare I/O, and that would get used up just by adding the register. I wonder if any OS support was produced for the original banker board? There was no mention of it in the Hot CoCo article. Edit: Drivers w...

Re: Diagnosing and repairing a faulty 64

The firq interrupt source from the cartridge port doesn't go directly to the cpu but via one of the pia chips. That said, your chess cartridge started up ok so it's probably fine. The nmi line can be manually pulled down to ground with the machine on. Maybe via a 220 ohm resistor to be on the safe s...

Re: Diagnosing and repairing a faulty 64

Do you have an autostart cart other than DOS/CoCoSDC? That would test the firq line. I'd be tempted to write NMI and FIRQ handlers to help test if those lines are working when manually pulled down. Might be worth getting hold of a SAM & 6809E just to try. I've managed to blow the interrupt circuit i...

Re: DRAM data retention time

I invited a hijack by mentioning the memory upgrade at the start so I can't get mad ;) It sounds like Ciaran's upgrade is going to be more plug and play than mine, as he's looking at an MMU, plus the upgrade board hosts the memory. I've gone old school with my upgrade: It's based on a design for the...

Re: Dragon to CoCo

v0.36.2 print to file works for me on my Win7 work laptop

A few things to watch out for:
- No quotes required around the file name
- The file is not flushed until xroar is closed
- The file is appended each time xroar is run so you need to delete the file when you are done with its contents

Re: pause a listing

shift @ on a real machine. This also pauses basic programs.

shift space does the same thing in xroar.

Re: Datapen

It's possibly a better design than the Trojan pen in the sense that it detects changes in light level rather than absolute light level, which makes it less sensitive to ambient light. Other than that it was just as disappointing for freehand drawing, as it has a similar principle for detecting posit...

Forgot I had one of these. Sadly it doesn't work on an LCD monitor.

I wasn't able to find the software anywhere so I've attached the contents of the tape.

I've created a new page in the wiki
