Re: RACE Electronics Peripherals

If it uses discrete logic, photos of the PCB might help?

Re: Dragon Quicks

Glad you found a way :)

There'll be a lot of duff ones in there, I'm sure - custom loaders, multipart stuff. But I'm sure it's a great start :)

Re: xroar rompath

You might try doubling up those backslashes - else XRoar will see them as escape sequences (or use forward slashes instead - they work under Windows). ... and you might also find that the latest snapshots in http://www.6809.org.uk/tmp/xroar/ changes this behaviour: it now expects that file paths on ...

Re: Dragon Quicks

It's a really tough problem to make that fully automated. XRoar can do a lot with commands like this though: xroar -tape-rewrite -tape-write output-file.cas -timeout-motoroff 5 input-file.wav (The "-timeout-motoroff 5" will quit the emulator automatically 5s after the last time the motor is turned o...

Re: DRAM data retention time

That looks nice and small and elegant! And portable, too - mine will need the Dragon 64 board layout.

Re: DRAM data retention time

My thing would be quite MOOH-like because I'm also trying to replicate the CoCo 3 MMU functions. Some of them, anyway. But it's not happening any time soon, as parts are a little less available than they used to be...

Re: DRAM data retention time

Oh, ok! I was mostly just mucking about, seeing what sort of thing worked if I wanted to potentially make a whole replacement motherboard. That's a long way off though, and PCB places tend to have a minimum order, so if the 512K revision works, I'll be sure to let you know.

Re: DRAM data retention time

I keep wondering about using SRAM for a memory upgrade after all 512K RAMs can be had pretty cheap nowadays, and you don't have the problem with refresh. However you would have to demux the Z0..Z7 lines from the SAM, and cope with the fact that the Dragon & CoCo designs rely on the fact that genera...
