Cartridge ROM Size Detect instantly detects and displays the correct cartridge ROM size along with the start and end addresses for saving to cassette.

Step-by-step instructions for copying FIRQ auto-starting cartridge based software to cassette:

(1) Make sure your Dragon or CoCo is SWITCHED OFF
(2) Put some Sellotape over the CART track (Pin 8) on the cartridge edge connector
(3) Insert the cartridge into the cartridge port
(4) Switch on your Dragon or CoCo
(5) CLOADM "DETECT", and EXEC

When the detection process is complete, the ROM size will be displayed on screen along with the START and END addresses needed for saving to cassette.

Example for saving 8K ROM size to tape:

Enter CSAVEM"FILENAME",&HC000,&HDFFF,&H10F to save to cassette. The &H10F EXEC address example is only for using with FIRQ auto-starting cartridge software after patching a Dragon or CoCo BASIC System ROM with my ROM (in RAM) Reset Patch. Replace with &HC002 for DOS cartridges.

The included pictures of the Dragon (and CoCo) cartridge port and edge connector show the CART (Pin 8) line which you need to cover on a FIRQ auto-starting cartridge to prevent it from automatically starting when you power on the computer. If you turn the cartridge upside down, the CART track would be the fourth from the left. The first first three tracks are missing on some cartridges, so usually the first track will be the one to stick the tape over.
