On the Dragon 32 the 16k rom is split into two roms: IC17 & IC18.
On my Dragon, IC17 is socketed while IC18 is soldered. Is this the standard configuration?
Which IC stores the lower 8K of rom and which one has the upper 8k?
Dragon 32 - IC17 / IC18
Re: Dragon 32 - IC17 / IC18
If you checkl the pictures of Dragon 32 boards here, you'll see that IC18 are usually labelled as 1-0 and IC17 as 1-1, so I guess IC18 has the lower part, and IC17 the upper one.
Please, correct me anyone if I'm wrong.

Some boards come with both ICs socketed. Others with both soldered.KenH wrote:On the Dragon 32 the 16k rom is split into two roms: IC17 & IC18.

Thanks Steve.
Do you know which IC stores the lower 8K of rom and which one has the upper 8k?

Re: Dragon 32 - IC17 / IC18
A quick inspection of the schematics for a Dragon 32 seems to indicate that IC18 is the lower 8k of the ROM.
