New Dragon DOS controllers available!

Post by robcfg »

Hey everybody!

Looking for a DragonDOS controller for your good ol' Dragon? Look no further!

Lafumat, a spanish user of the RetroWiki and Zona de Pruebas forum, has created new controllers which use the original WD2797 chip, but has everything else (besides the eprom) done with smd components and with a stylish white finish.

You can take a look at it here.

He has 3 or 4 remaining, but his intention is to do new batches so that everybody can get one.

I've bought two controllers and they work just dandy!

Most probably, Lafumat will be registering an account here at the archive soon, but meanwhile, you can contact him on the following address: lafuentemateos(at)gmail(dot)com.

Which version of DragonDOS does he use (1.1c, 1.2a, 4.1, etc)?

He ships the controller with DragonDOS 4.1, but as it's stored on a standard eprom, you could flash any version you like.

If you are interested in having it with a certain DragonDos version, just ask him, I don't think he will have any problem with that.

Thanks for the information. Version 4.1 is OK, but I would prefer 1.1c or 1.2a.

Hi! Welcome mate!

I'd like to know more about that utility disk.

And feel free to upload your dumps to the Uploads section here in the forum.

We have to talk about that Cumana disk drive manual, which is something very useful and that was nowhere to be found for ages!

Regards,
Rob

ok...

i have one cumana disk drive guide for dragon...

i scan and upload...

you see and imagen of this in retrowiki, when ron vitid to me!!

and upload pictures about utility disk. this utility can load other bios to dragon memory for control disk. thus you have any bios (for example, dragondos 1.0) and you load other bios (for example dragondos4.0).

I wonder if adding more *. bin also work

can you say as I passed a eeprom file to disk as *. bin

thanks

Is that only for the Dragon 64/200 (or 64K upgraded Dragon 32) like the CartConvExample disk.

I think not, the only thing you do is dump the eprom area, so a dragon32 should operate without problems.

and also I have dragon32 proves it.

only time I ask because I have little free time and not much I can take to get the tasks

:)
