Hi all,
I'm debating if I should shrink the DragonMMC board as much as I can, currently the board is 100x155mm (measuring by the furthest apart edges). This is exactly the correct size to fit in a DragonDos cartridge case.
By shuffling components I can get this down to 100x130mm which is about an inch shorter, but of course doesn't fit as conveniently in an already existing case.
Do people think I should shrink it for the production board? I will of course leave in the two holes at the SD card end of the board, as I am using these to fit a couple of supports as the board is somewhat more reliable when it isn't hanging on the connector.
Cheers,
Phill.

Re: DragonMMC board size.....
The only reason I can think to reduce the size is to reduce the price of the boards, otherwise I think it doesn't matter much.
I don't know if it would also reduce the price of 3D printing a case for it, but you can always go for a nice solution like Rolo's multi cartridges.

Re: DragonMMC board size.....
Hi Phill,
I wouldn't bother about size if it fits inside a DragonDOS cartridge.
That's a very good size. Costless to have a good case for it despite it would need some
mechanical work.
Can't wait to see the first production units ...
Put me down for one, please!
cheers

Hi all,
Cheers for the comments.
Something my beta tester pointed out was that keeping the board the current size gives me room to add a real time clock, just ordered the bits to do some development with this.
Cheers.
Phill.
