If u using the Dragon on a monochrome monitor u can suppress the component on blue socket near quartz on this picture :
You will obtain a better image.

Can you be more specific about what you are doing? You have simply removed the LM1889 chip? What is that coax cable from near the 6847 to the rear panel?

Yes just remove this chip if you are not using the colors, composite video out will be better. I hope this still working.
The brown cable is the Dragon Plus board video out who is not mounted at this moment. This cable is just put on keyboard for the picture, not at all connected à the 6847.
