I have a Dragon 64 here, buyed on ebay... Now i see there is a mod.
There is a condenser connected parallel to the "quartz crystal" XL2. See picture on the right side.
What does it do? Change the frequency pulse?
What does this dragon mod do?

Re: What does this dragon mod do?
That looks like the mod that switches the display to monochrome for a sharper picture. 'Shorting' the crystal with a capacitor removes the colour sub carrier from the PAL signal.
That said, I've always had the impression that the D64 display was a lot cleaner than the D32. Maybe some still had an annoying amount of 'dot crawl'?

Yes you are right. I connected the dragon and test it. It switched to greyscale and it's clearer.
I didn't not see any significant difference between 32 and 64 screen output.
