IMO, the best version to use would be DragonDOS 1.1 or DragonDOS 1.1dir. This version fixes the most important bugs in DragonDOS version 1.0 but still maintains 100% compatibility with all software. You could also use DragonDOS 1.1c which is the same as version 1.1 but with a paged directory display built-in. Its not as good as the paged directory display used by 1.1dir but it is only 8K in size like the original DragonDOS. Version 1.1dir is slightly larger and will require a 16K EEPROM chip.Stig wrote:Rather than start a new thread, I thought I would post here as it is related.
What is the definitive version of DragonDOS ?
I recently got an original Dragon disk controller cart with DOS version 1 on it and want to put a new eeprom in it with the "best" version of DOS on there.
What is everyones opinion of the best version ?
Thanks
Use DragonDOS 1.3/1.3a or Dosplus 4.9/5.0 if you want what is claimed to be a bug free version that is not guaranteed to work with all software.
DragonDOS 1.1c is my personal favourite. I have used it for several years under XROAR emulation and real Dragon 32/64 hardware.
