HDB-DOS

Post by zephyr »

Does anyone know where the latest versions of HDB-DOS can be downloaded ("HDB-DOS 1.4 with DriveWire support" is currently listed in the XROAR 0.29 documentation as part of the ROM lists). I can find v1.1D and 1.3, but not the latest 1.4 version.

Version 1.1D can be downloaded from: http://www.cloud9tech.com/
Version 1.2 can be downloaded from here.
Version 1.3 can be downloaded from: http://roms.coco.l-w.ca/
Version 1.4 (Jan 4th source code update) can be downloaded from here.

Compiled versions of HDB-DOS 1.3 (including DriveWire support) from http://roms.coco.l-w.ca/ are attached to this post.

Here is the complete build of the HDB-DOS 1.4 roms and wav files.
I have built this set on October 2012, based on the HDBDOS source and make files which are part of the toolshed repository
Complete source files are available here:

Thanks Ken! :) Is it possible to download all of the source code files in one .zip (or other) archive?

The WAV files for the HDB-DOS rom on this 1.4 package are bad. They give me an IO ERROR after showing the name of the file during loading.
I converted the original BIN files using Cocotape, now they load fine. Unfortunately, I still have the same error using Drivewire on the Color64.

Attached is the latest HDBDOS 1.4 source folder from the toolshed repository as well as the cocoroms source folder which included the ecb_equates which are required to make hdbdos.

I fixed the makefile (latest from Mercurial) so the cb_equates and ecb_equates are built correctly. Also, I saw no ROMs are being generated with 38400 baud code for DW. I added a CoCo 1 ROM with that defined. The diff and the ROMs I generated with them are here: http://users.vialink.com.br/jcastro/hdbdos

The makefile doesn't generate a BIN file though, only raw ROM images. Anyone has a script for that?

Code: Select all

make all
using the makefile in the repository (and the above archive) should generate the ROM files.

Here are the HDB-DOS 1.1D and HDB-DOS 1.2 (DriveWire) ROM images and .WAV files. I have tested all of the attached CoCo 1 and CoCo 2 compatible ROM images (and .wav files) with DriveWire 3 and 4. They all worked perfectly.

I recommend using Audacity for making real audio cassette copies from the included wave (.WAV) files.

How do you download files from Mercurial?
