Great Ciaran,
now it is fast enough to want to play it ....
How could I play a game on XRoar having a chance to move Q*Bert?
Despite I choose Ctrl+K I have not got to move in any direction
I think that last version accepted (way too slow) Up+Left cursors
to move as it seems that moves *must* be made diagonally.
Any hint will be very welcome!
cheers

HI,
after selecting Right Joystick = Keyboard, I could really begin to play
It is damn complicated to survive!
Very good indeed!

.. because you can.

Quite tricky on the old keyboard but always fun to see something new. :D

Ah yes, right joystick and diagonal movement only.

It's certainly tricky! I probably got quite good at it as a kid as there'd have been little else around :) Though there's a massive luck element.

Could still do with some jiggery-pokery - like where it reads the joystick means you almost have to preempt the next move rather than react to what's happened. And I don't think it's that good at detecting a collision with 'Splodge' :)

Still, kudos to Philip Thompson for making something basically pretty playable at the time!

Ha ha this is brilliant! I remember the original type-in very well.

I've been admiring the build process: The way you've linked the m/c routines with the basic program is very neat.
