H Fowler Trivial Crosswords

Post by sorchard »

Nice crossword collection if you like that sort of thing.

It's fairly self explanatory but it took me a while to discover that you have to press 'A' to select the across clue and 'D' for the down clue.

One thing to watch out for in an emulator is the cassette motor gets turned on prior to loading blocks of clues so it may be necessary to rewind the tape to be able to load the desired block.

This seems to be the same as Quickbeam's offering. I assume that H. Fowler released his game as an independent before it was published by Quickbeam.

The Quickbeam manual is available from the download section (where you can also find the Quickbeam program which has been erroneously placed in the manuals section).

Well spotted. I've updated the wiki page to show the two versions & linked to the manual.
