So did Salamander actually release "The White Cliffs of Dover" before they stopped trading? If that is the case, and you have an original, then you have a rare tape there :)

Please - if you have the original tape for White Cliffs - can you dig it out and do some photos/scans - this has NEVER been seen and was believed to be unreleased.

Sorry, but it is from a copy, that I think was given to me in 1985 or possibly '86.
When did Salamander cease trading Dragon Software?

Hi,

I've been trying to load this game in XRoar and I always get a ?OM Error when the game starts.

Is there anything special needed to load the game?

Seems ok if you EXEC to 64K mode, or if you do the PCLEAR0 trick before loading (POKE25,6:NEW).

I am not quite sure but after reading the 6809 Colour Show section of Dragon Update Issue 4 I would guess late 1984 or early 1985. This section also states that Salamander were selling the game by mail order and you would "receive the tape and very little else". Quite what "very little else" means is unclear: perhaps there was no cassette inlay, no instructions, and perhaps not even a printed label on the tape - assuming, of course, that any tapes were shipped.

Thank's for the reply, I think it is more likely that I received the copy in 1985. From what I remember of the guy who made the copy for me, he did not have any links with Salamander or any other Software House for that matter (and I unfortunately lost touch with him in the Eighties), so it is possible that the tape was available to purchase.
Sorry that I can't shed anymore light on it than that, but at least it is now in the Archive.

Sorry for bringing this thread back from the dead, but does anyone have the pictures of the original Robin Hood by Portent tape, inlay, etc?

And Munkeyboy, was that dumped from the original tape?

Regards,
Rob
