The CAS version in the Dragon Archive is broken, although the bug doesn't show up until after team selection and when you start the game itself.

There is a WAV file here:

http://www.acornelectron.co.uk/Tim_Loves_Cricket.zip

I would advise converting this one to CAS and then replacing the old version with it. I downloaded the broken version from the green-screen archive section, not the Wiki section.

Hi,

You'll find attached the cas file converted from your wav file.

Could you please tell which of the two files in the downloads section you downloaded? The or the [!] one?

daelectron,
does the version you tested work on a Dragon 32? Tim Love's Cricket is one of those programs that fall foul of the USR bug, the original will work on a Dragon 32 but not on any other version of Dragon (without patching).

In fact, although the original issue of TLC was incompatible with the D64, the code was amended and we trashed quite a few copies of the original when it was replaced.

There was also a disastrous, very short-lived stop-gap version that prompted:

Do you have
1 A Dragon 32 or
2 A Dragon 64?

The intention was that the user should enter "1" or "2"

Unfortunately, some D32 users entered "3" which was ignored, then "2" which selected the D64 version.

That version of the game will only work correctly on a Dragon 32 (and any Dragon 64 that has been upgraded with Steve Woolham's Enhanced ROMs).

I have fixed the bug which causes the game to crash when attempting to run it on a Dragon 64. I have also fixed the Heads/Tails bug.

Further improved the Heads/Tails coin toss routine.
