If you have a Tano Dragon, what does this offer over using a Serial cable?

Speed: The ACIA on the Tano/64 is limited to 19200 baud. The DriveWire adapter runs by bitbanging like on the CoCo2, at 57600 baud. 115200 is technically possible but the software is not ready, although I have tried it on HDB-DOS with success.

Software compatibility: We already have HDB-DOS, NitrOS-9 and DWLOAD running on the Dragon with the DriveWire adapters. The software can be ported to the ACIA too, but it hasn't happened.

And you don't need an RS232 port on the other computer :)

Now you can add DragonDos to the DriveWire's software compatibility.
Pere's new DosPlus Extender, enhances DragonDos with full Drivewire support.
You can now easily LOAD /SAVE/ DIR / BOOT programs using the standard DragonDos commands directly from the Drivewire server (either a PC/Max/Linux box or a uDW microserver) .
