Hello,
I am testing Dragon and Tandy ROMs to verify that they can be used on the Dragon.
I have tested quite a lot (about 90), both originals and others converted by rolo to the Dragon.
A few had keyboard problems that I think I have solved, for example: Sokoban, Silpheed, Fraction Fever and Color Scripsit II
I am testing on XRoar and when I try Reactoid, the machine always hangs
If I try it on MAME178, it starts correctly and allows playing, but joystick is mandatory ... I am stuck!
I am not a MAME user, and so I haven't been able to 'activate' or enable the joysticks
If anyone could help on that, I will really appreciate it!
@Ciaran
I am attaching here the ROM file. When I start Xroar with that rom, it simply starts a
different intro than on MAME (and real Dragon) and once I press 'ALT' for Left Joystick, the program hangs immediately.
Maybe you could see what I am doing wrongly. Thanks beforehand!
cheers

REACTOID on emulators
Re: REACTOID on emulators
Joysticks were added to the Dragon machines in MAME 0.185, so you'll need a later version.pser1 wrote:If I try it on MAME178, it starts correctly and allows playing, but joystick is mandatory ... I am stuck!

Reactoid seems to work fine, but not very playable using keys.
Re: REACTOID on emulators
OK,
thanks a lot, will download a later version.
I played it on my Dragon and even I used the joystick, the game
is damn complicated

Re: REACTOID on emulators
Oh, did I miss some keys? This is the result, if you don't know the games or read the manuals. I converted, what I noticed, but obviously did not find all controls. I never have the time, to really play the games. Thanks for fixing!A few had keyboard problems that I think I have solved, for example: Sokoban, Silpheed, Fraction Fever and Color Scripsit II
Is there a special place in the download section for those files in the meantime?
Back in the day, when I made these conversions, I did not know, where to copy the modified roms to, outside of the forum.
Re: REACTOID on emulators
Odd that this behaves differently in XRoar. Tracing proving hard so far, as MAME and XRoar initialise RAM differently (so some early conditional branches go different ways), but I'll keep looking when I get spare moments!
