Hi everyone,
Came across a pair of Tandy Deluxe Joysticks that are up for sale locally.
They're DIN-6. Is there an adapter available for the Dragon? A DIY hack perhaps?
Thanks!
Tandy Deluxe Joystick Adapter?
Re: Tandy Deluxe Joystick Adapter?
Hi,
just get the needed plugs and some wires. A 6 pin female for the deLuxe and a 5 pin male for the Dragon.
You have to connect both CoCo buttons together. So, just link the central pin (num 6) from deLuxe port to the std button pin (num 4)
Seen from the solder view of the female for the deLuxe joystick, the pins are:
So that you'll end up with 5 wires from the deLuxe to the Dragon plug. Being each one:
1 - X axis pos
2 - Y axis pos
3 - Ground
4 - Buttons (tied to ground when pressed)
5 - +5V
On the solder side of the Dragon male, let me use these numbers:
You just have to run a wire between pins with the *same* number on those pin-outs
This way you can plug the DeLuxe joysticks as well as the standard Dragon ones to the same adapter.
That's how I made two 'adapters' for mine. Hope it helps.
