Greetings fellow Dragon users,
I recently upgraded to Windows 10 (I know, I know) and now xroar won't display the usual Dragon screen. Instead the screen is black. I can load a .cas or .wav file using keyboard shortcuts and I can hear the game playing but the screen remains steadfastly black. Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Gareth.

Re: XROAR and Windows 10
I've been running xroar with Windows 10 for some time without problems. I'm running xroar 0.32-w32.

If you run it with openGL, try software rendering or the other way round.
Re: XROAR and Windows 10
Yeah this has come up before when OpenGL drivers don't support textures (but WIndows 10 - really? Still?) - it's actually in TFM. If you can't fudge around OpenGL (new drivers, perhaps), running with -vo sdl might be your only option.

How do I run with -vo sdl? I'm afraid I don't know what that means.sixxie wrote:Yeah this has come up before when OpenGL drivers don't support textures (but WIndows 10 - really? Re: XROAR and Windows 10
They are command line options, but if you're running by double-clicking, you should be able to create a file in the same directory called xroar.conf containing the line vo sdl (as well as any other config options you want to set).
(Or: look for updated OpenGL drivers for your graphics card)

Re: XROAR and Windows 10
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem with running XROAR on Windows 10 and haven't been able to solve it either! I assume that you create the xroar.conf with Notepad? I've tried typing -vo sdl into XROAR and it made no difference. Any idea what is going wrong?

Re: XROAR and Windows 10
Updated drivers (for better OpenGL) is probably the best fix.
But perhaps try one of the snapshot builds here: http://www.6809.org.uk/tmp/xroar/
They include currently-experimental code to use SDL2 for the rendering, which would hopefully be able to manage Windows a bit better. Well, it's worth a shot...
