What is P/N 48200 for?

I got a MKII board from eBay, as it has a daughterboard with part number 48200 issue 2, that we didn't have scanned at the archive.

Does anyone know what the daughterboard is for?

A friend of mine thinks that it's for pal to ntsc conversion, but we are not sure about it.

The boards are now scanned, and you can see them in the Hardware Pictures section.

Another Dragon mystery waiting to be solved! :ugeek:

Hi Rob,
won't it be the same we talked about in these threads?

Absolutely!

I had the feeling it has been talked before, but couldn't find any post by the part number.

So, is it for improving image quality?

Thanks for the links, Pere!

honestly I am not able to distinguish between the Dragon 32 without this daugther board
and the one that has it.
And if there were differences I could not tell if the main reason was this board.
I think it is said that this board was added to the old motherboards to correct something.
The new ones had that mod incorporated. I don't remember well right now.

Probably the "latch HS" thing CoCo 1s suffered from.

Which on consideration might be a RAM refresh thing - as that happens during HS low.
