Did it run OK at double speed (POKE65495,0)?
Still not had time to try. Mad busy at the moment.
Maybe next week, if I'm lucky!

There is a poke that can kill some Commodore PETs so it pays to be wary, but beyond crashing my D32 the double speed poke has never harmed my double speed incapable Dragon.

I also heard of a myth about a Poke of death for the VIC 20, so maybe it is a CBM thing.

Right, I'm running some tests now, so I'm going over to here:

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=338

for the results.

Did you try the Christmas music on your Dragon 32?

APOLOGIES:

I have been off the ball regarding my dear old Dragon since just before Christmas.

I have been distracted by resurrecting my stamp collection (yes really!). I thought I'd give the dragon a go today and then remembered that my iPad isn't charged, which is what I use for loading, or should that be CLOADING?!

Hopefully tomorrow! Anyway, I shall report my findings back here, of that you can be sure.

Well I finally got the old Dragon out of the loft and tried a few things.

Firstly the Christmas Music seemed to have a problem loading, which was rather a shame. It went through the process, but never seemed to end to allow me to type EXEC or RUN, despite the recording having finished.

As for the CoCo SID, that was really good. I haven't had my C64 down lately, but I think I'll have to do a direct comparison at some point. Anyway to my ears it sounded very SID like.

Over to the other thread of the Double Speed update.

How are you trying to load it?

I can load it on a real Dragon from my PC, using Audacity to play the wav file. As much as I like GoldWave, for example, I get the same error as you.

Don't forget to follow the instructions on the readme file.

Hope this helps!

Give this a go:

http://www.6809.org.uk/tmp/da/cassettes/xmastune.flac (FLAC), or
http://www.6809.org.uk/tmp/da/cassettes/xmastune.wav (WAV)

Music unchanged, but no special instructions to load.
