Are there any books for the Dragon 64 or can I just use CoCo books. Thanks!

There are a lot of books, most of them Basic related ( I know of 50 of them)
In the download section you will find some (Basic and machine code) :

If you're interested in Assembly language programming on the Dragon I'd recommend reading `Inside the Dragon' .
