Star Defence by Blaby Computer Games

I am having trouble playing this game on xRoar. The game loads ok, shows the title screen and then shows a list of the game keys and the message "Press SPACE To Start".

Unfortunately, it does not respond to the press of the Space key. Both the version (.CAS) in the archives, and a version I make myself from the original tape, have the same issue.

Anyone got any ideas why it doesn't work? Emulator problem maybe?

The game code is not corrupt, but the key input routines are very poor. Does this game work OK on a real Dragon?

I can't get it to start on a real Dragon either.
