Is it possible to enable writeback to disks mounted in xroar by default through a command line argument or something? I tend to forget to press Shift-Ctrl-5 a little too often to my liking...

No it isn't, but I'll take that as a feature request!

Yes, please! It would help a lot.

Hi Sixxie!
I've been testing some disk controllers lately and I've found a bug in XRoar.
If I create a blank vdk image with 2 sides and 80 tracks manually, XRoar accepts it and I can format the full 720kb and use it under the emulator, but if I create a blank image (with CTRL+SHIFT+1) and try to do DSKINIT 1,2,80 ; the program quits with a nice exception.
The same happens if anything than the usual 1 side 40 tracks is used as parameter with DSKINIT.
I've attached a DragonDOS formatted .VDK image for you to try.
By the way, I find it a bit difficult to remember if I have any disk inserted or if it has write protection or not, so I've made a mockup of an idea for the XRoar UI. It wouldn't be difficult to do it in SDL, would work without much fuss on any platform and would make the emulator much more easier and friendly to use. Of course, it's only a suggestion
Time to go to bed!

Re: xroar and disk writeback
Bug: fixed! Thanks for that What I haven't fixed is that it's actually impossible to specify a disk bigger than 40TSS when creating...
As for the UI, I've been working on a little something:
GTK+ only for now (Mac OS one when I get time), available in the latest uploaded snapshot source. That tape dialog actually scans the image for files and lets you double-click to seek to the appropriate point.
But you're right, this doesn't address the full cross-platform issue. An optional pop-up overlay just giving status would be quite useful.
