Dragon 32 problems troubleshooting

Post by hoost2 »

Just dug out my old Dragon 32 (actually have 2)

Plugged it in and the screen is displaying mostly @@@@@@@@&&&&&&& things like that
I was wondering if anyone knew of any possible fixes or can point me in the right direction for a guide to repair (not much on the net)

May be a problem with the video memory??

Any help??

Cheers

Might be worth opening the machine up and pressing down on any socketed chips to make sure that they are firmly seated in their sockets.
Obviously you need to do this with the machine switched off.

Cheers.

From the service documents (hosted on this site):
D. Garbage on Screen

1. If RESET switch cures fault, then change IC17.

2. Change IC15.

3. Change IC17.

4. Change IC18.

Do you mean that your cassette player does not work, or that your fixed Dragon will not accept cassette input?
