XRoar: can Windows 11 users help out?

Working up to another release, and it would be nice to know if I can remove a bodge I put in for Windows 11 before. Not least of which because I've realised SDL crashes if you resize a window for too long with the bodge in place!

The old symptom was that Windows 11 users just got a blank screen. This one seems fine under Windows 10, but then it did last time! SDL has been updated in the meantime, so I have my fingers crossed...
