Why doesn't Snapshot work for me in Xroar?

Hi, I recently got Xroar so I could emulate a Dragon 32 on Windows 10 pc to play some games. I would like to be able to save my game progress if I'm playing a long game or a game that is hard so I don't have to keep starting at the beginning. I've tried using snapshot to save my progress but for some reason it doesn't work. I've used snapshot on Speculator (a ZX Spectrum emulator) with no problems.

Hello, and welcome to the archive.

ChuckieEgg, unless things have changed recently you have to add the .sna extension to the filename whenever you save a snapshot.

Ok thanks I'll try that. So basically I make up a file name for example lunar patrol last level then type .sna afterwards when I save the snapshot? So something like 'lunar patrol last level .sna'

Yes, though I would avoid putting spaces in the file name. Try "lunar_patrol_last_level.sna" instead.

Thanks and thanks. Yes sorry about the double post. I thought my first reply hadn't worked so I tried again. When I saw that the first reply had worked I tried to delete the duplicate post but apparently the site doesn't allow it.

Thanks again, snapshot works perfectly. Now managed to complete beginner and expert levels on Lunar Buggy Patrol thanks to snapshot 😁How did people manage to complete these games back in the day without the ability to save progress? I know how frustrating it was back then to get far in a game then lose your last life and start right at the beginning again 😫
