something new (quiz)
something new (quiz)
I am brewing on something new to display on this year's VCF. To stir your curiosity, I will progressively drop some screenshots...
The hissing of the summer lawns? Is that a smiling green python snake on green grass? Or can something else be hidden in wonderful 6847 scenery?Re: something new (quiz)
I'm intrigued Tormod.
Re: something new (quiz)
I hate to disappoint everyone but it is not a new, cool snake game... It was just luck and circumstances/side effects added some colourful dithering to the display. Here the cleaned, boring fixup. So it looks like some cryptic strings appearing...
Re: something new (quiz)
Hi Tormod,
any extra hint about that?
To me it seems something like a list of the contents of a config file, might be OS-9 or like that, but coming from you I will suspect it is Fuzix related
I read the 1773 controller chip for the CoCo machines but you know I am not too OS-9 / NitrOS-9 inclined.
X1-X2-X3 seem to be 'external' drives (maybe drivewire?)
Waiting for next chapter info
cheers

Re: something new (quiz)
Just a little hint to why it appears so cryptic 6847
Re: something new (quiz)
Definitely on to something with OS-9 there. Too many descriptor names to be a coincidence...
Re: something new (quiz)
well it seems to be something like this ...
The efect due to the screen being POKEd or stored values instead of Printing ASCII, I hope

Re: something new (quiz)
You're good! Indeed it was a missing ASCII->6847 conversion. With all in upper case, and including the header since, yes, it is NitrOS-9
Re: something new (quiz)
I admit you have to be far into OS-9/NitrOS-9 to spot anything new in that boot screen. Here is the banner page.
Re: something new (quiz)
Nice. Taking it to the next stage. Evenly balanced for a second time. Etc.
