Re: DRAM data retention time
Most interesting! So it seems that fixing the NHS signal on one of my Dragon64s was a bit of a waste of time then

Re: Experimental Blitter
Wow, very very cool! :o In this demo, is there any proportion of the CPU time that's free (not setup, and unhalted) cycles? Or have you filled the frame period to the brim? My mind is always drawn to all of the time on the bus available from the inside of the machine (AVMA and !E when outside of the...

Re: Problems with DOS using an Y-type connection
That difference in the read loop would shorten the time the PIA line and FIRQ were asserted for by a few cycles. And as I mentioned, it's already pulled low a lot more than it is with a standard DOS cartridge timing (from chatting with Darren before about Dragon OS9 boot unreliability). From some ol...

Re: Jaysoft - Taipan
Right, have done some trawling through some old disks with the aid of my greaseweazle over the last few days and have managed to find a copy of the game on an old disk which may well be the Dragon version shipped by Jaysoft.
It's attached below.

Re: Problems with DOS using an Y-type connection
I don't think the clock module has anything to do with it... that's late on in the boot process, and the crashes appear to be almost immediately after loading the boot track, or during the boot module's attempt to load the OS9Boot file. But I have observed very very similar crashes with all disk boo...

Re: Problems with DOS using an Y-type connection
I have an upgraded 2A 5V power setup as well... and it seems to improve reliability of OS9 CoCoSDC booting, but it definitely doesn't categorically fix it. A cold Dragon 64 is poor, a Dragon 32(64) is generally better, and the machines improve as they warm up. On those lines, I've done some recappin...

Re: Problems with DOS using an Y-type connection
This feels to me like the same SDC 'I wonder, is it a power issue' problem which frequently prevents OS9 booting on Dragon 64s...
The fact the EH DragonDOS and SuperDOS E6 seem to be hugely more reliable gives some additional testing options to try.
