Carnival game (WAV)
This is a game called Carnival - looks like it was written by someone called Jordi Pale Martinez - can't see a publisher's name anywhere.

Oasis - Sprint Basic Compiler (WAV)
I can't see this in the uploads
(This doesn't seem to run in XRoar if DragonDos is installed - out of memory error).
There are 5 programs in the WAV. The first one is a basic loader for the remaining 4 (compiler, compiler, linker1 & linker2)

Converting cassettes (2)
Daft question, but when uploading captured cassettes, should I upload them as WAV or CAS? I'm not sure what the advantage of CAS is over WAV other than smaller size, but ~60kB for a WAV isn't much nowadays. Isn't the WAV more likely to work, and it means you can just play it straight back to a real ...

Re: Converting cassettes
OK. I think I may have found the problem. I was being overambitious with the sampling. 32 bit floating point stereo sampling at 44.1kHz doesn't work 8 bit integer mono sampling at 44.1kHz works fine. I can't find anything anywhere saying what settings to sample with - maybe something to add to the W...

Re: Converting cassettes
OK, I've uploaded an example WAV file to
http://bigfiles.co.uk/pscs/Startrek4.wav
This is stereo 32bit sampling at 44.1kHz at the same volume level on the cassette recorder as works with the real Dragon (the waveform looks good in my capture software)

Re: My 'arcade games' disk - VDK
Glad you enjoyed it I can't find the original cassette for Pooyan, nor for anything which looks like CANDYMAN or ZEROG Unfortunately, I can't find anything in my box of ~90 cassettes which looks like those either, but the cassettes aren't all catalogued, so there may be something when I manage to wo...

Converting cassettes
I've got a box of ~90 Dragon cassettes (not all originals), and a cassette recorder. If I use it with a real Dragon, I get the 'S', then (eg) 'F SPACETRK', so it appears that the cassette player & cassette are OK. Then, I try to convert to a CAS file. I can capture the wibbly noise (TM) to a WAV fil...

Re: pcmplay - new dragon sound routine
(Sorry, I'd missed that it uses DP addressing. I'm fairly sure I had a faster loop than this when I did the same thing back in the 80s, but my code was nothing like this) The loop goes around 7295 times per second, so the max frequency is 3647Hz - not 7295 Hz. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nyquist_r...

Re: pcmplay - new dragon sound routine
Rob, if it's like the one I did back in the 80's, it's going flat out using the CPU. To get a 5kHz waveform you need to send a signal to the DAC every 100 microseconds Looking at the source, his main loop takes 122 clock cycles, so it goes around 7295 times a second, so you get about 3.6kHz max freq...

Re: WTB Dragon and game carts
Well, it works fine with a borrowed TV via the composite out, so I need to sort out the NTSC -> VGA conversion
