Re: "Syzygy"

Thank you very much for the tip, Ciaran. I guess it would take sparing some time to play this game again, until I reach the confrontation. Having saved the game just before, of course!

I also seem to remember that failing in every attempt used to be quite irritating at the time...

"Syzygy"

I'm not sure I ever posted this question in the old forum, so here it is... (again?) Has anyone among you ever suceeded in defeating Darth Vader in this game? This was the only bit that required a joystick and, despite the explanation found here and there (such as "always keep the beams crossed"), I...

Re: Subcategories for Games

Fantastic - you should be able to Login to the Wiki with the same username and password that you use for the forums. This should enable the "Edit" tab at the top of each page and allow you to create new pages. If this doesn't work then let me know as all I have to do is add you to a group called Wi...

Re: Subcategories for Games

I guess there are a few people who would be willing to help there...
And you may count me in!

As far as the categories are concerned, this would be fine with me, and I do believe there are enough standard genres to fit most of Dragon software.

Re: Perilous Pit .cas file problems?

Hello all, My own tape dump of "Perilous Pit" has the same problem (crashes while loading). But I do have a working version (protection removed) of "Pedro" that seems to be working fine : you'll find it on my "ARCAD09A.vdk" file. In case you cannot run it from a virtual disk, just let me know and I ...

Re: XRoar 0.23 released

Thanks for your explanation and, yes, this is very cool indeed! Yet I do have an extra question : is there any specific saving command for ASCII files, i.e. something that will create the corresponding ".bas" file on one's PC, or will the standard CSAVE "filename", A command achieve this?

Re: XRoar 0.23 released

Excellent! Can confirm its running on the latest macs and the ascii file load is just the kind of functionality that makes me dribble. Before I was hacking (really dirty) the source to do the same. Good work, keep it up! Could someone please explain to me how this functionality actually works?! Is ...

Re: Feeding the Dragon ecosystem

A number of years ago (must have been circa year 2K), I did receive some invaluable help from a colleague of mine, who owns a real menagerie of old computers. We met at the office on a Saturday, and he had brought one of his old PCs having a dual drive (i.e. 5.25" & 3.5" floppies). Most of my person...

Re: Dragon 64 keyboard auto-repeat bug fix

(2) For people using DragonDOS for the first time please note that you need to add 1 to the end address when saving to disk. Example: Save to tape: CSAVEM"D64PATCH",28672,28980,28672 Save to disk: SAVE"D64PATH",28672,28981,28672 Why is is so?!!! I already know one can only PEEK the program's length...

Re: Ring of Darkness - multi stage load

Does anyone know if there is a disk version of ROD ? I seriously doubt it... Just take a look at the program's list (written in Basic), and you'll soon find out how big it is. Given the use of PMODE3/4 graphics (i.e. another 6 KB off the available memory) for the main map and the cities & mazes, th...
